The Cocopah Education Department exists to address the educational issues and concerns of the Cocopah Indian Tribe by providing information, assistance and funding opportunities to students. The Education Department provides financial aid and assistance to students in kindergarten – 12th grade and to students pursuing higher degrees, which include associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees. The department also provides tutoring and counseling services for Cocopah students.
The Cocopah Education Department developed reference guides to better serve the Cocopah students. In the handbooks, students can learn more about the Education Department programs and services. The K-12 Student Handbook is designed to assist students who are in kindergarten-12th grade. The Higher Education Student Handbook is designed to assist Cocopah members who are pursuing a degree beyond high school.
The Education Department, located on the Cocopah West Reservation, is open Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The department will be closed during all holidays observed by the Cocopah Tribal Council. For more information, contact the department at (928) 627-4973 or (928) 627-4979.
