Frequently Asked Questions:
- Once I have turned in my application, what is the review process?
Once applications have been reviewed, the Human Resources Department will invite selected applicants to an interview panel. The panel will be comprised of at least one tribal member and the appropriate department director.
The Cocopah Tribal Council receives the interview panel's applicant reviews during its regular monthly council meeting. Based on the recommendations of the panel, the Tribal Council will make the final decision and the chosen candidate will be notified. The hiring process takes approximately one month. - When is the best time to reach the Human Resources Department?
You can reach the department at (928) 627-2102 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. - I am interested in an open position at Cocopah Casino. Where do I apply?
You may download an application from Cocopah Casino's website or pick up an application in person at the casino. Once applications have been reviewed, the Human Resources Department will invite selected applicants to an interview. - What are the Native American and current employee employment preference policies?
In accordance with applicable law, if two applicants are equally qualified for a position, the candidate who is a tribal member or Native American will be given preference. The Cocopah Tribe continually works to improve the local economy and the standards of living for tribal members.
Current employee employment preference states that if a current employee and a second applicant both apply for the same position and are equally qualified, the current employee will be awarded additional points by the interview panel. - I am interested in an open position, and it says the position is "at will." What does this mean?
