The Cocopah Environmental Protection Office, in conjunction with the Cocopah Community Center, planted eight trees in recognition of Arbor Day and Earth Awareness Month.
Cocopah Head Start children participate in a gardening project that teaches them about plants, vegetables and healthy foods.
About a dozen Cocopah students on March 31 participated in a mock trial held at the Cocopah Tribal Court.
Cocopah students on March 30 underwent an eight-hour Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation course held at the Somerton/Cocopah Fire Department.
Over the last 10 years the Cocopah Indian Tribe has been renovating homes on the reservation, and two new federal grants will allow the tribe to continue those projects.
