Stakeholders gathered Jan. 12 for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Magrino Industrial Park, located near the San Luis II Port of Entry.
Cocopah Business Development Director Gary Magrino and Vice-Chairman J. Deal Begay Jr. were among more than two-dozen public officials and business leaders who attended the ceremony. The Cocopah Indian Tribe is a major stakeholder in the industrial park, which consists of more than 200 acres of real estate designed to accommodate international industrial operations.
The park is named after Magrino who was instrumental in developing the land when he served as Chairman of the Board for the Greater Yuma Port Authority. Funding for the industrial park came from the federal government and various stakeholders.
