More than 170 Cocopah students Thursday night received special awards and recognition for academic excellence, attendance and participation in school activities.
Here are the some highlights from the first Cocopah Days celebration that was held May 15-17.
“Preserving our history is and always has been a passion of mine since I was a child,” said H. Jill McCormick.
The Cocopah Environmental Protection Office, in conjunction with the Cocopah Community Center, planted eight trees in recognition of Arbor Day and Earth Awareness Month.
Cocopah Head Start children participate in a gardening project that teaches them about plants, vegetables and healthy foods.
