Summary
Under the direction of the Patrol Sergeant, the Officer will be responsible for the safety, security and the preservation of life and property by maintaining law and order within the boundaries of the Cocopah Nation Reservation. Assist with maintaining continual law enforcement and prevention services twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week. The Officer will have the responsibility of enforcing Federal, State or Tribal laws and ordinances as necessary. Work is subject to rotating shift assignments, odd hours of work and on-call status.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Protects the property and lives of community members by patrolling assigned areas and addressing any suspicious persons and/or establishments.
- Provide patrol services on and off roadways throughout or between the boundaries of the Reservation
- Interviews persons with complaints or inquiries and directs them to proper authorities if needed.
- Responds to all incidents and any other misdemeanors or felonies and secures the scene of the crime.
- Conducts preliminary investigations, gathers evidence, obtains witnesses, and makes arrests as required by applicable laws.
- Testifies in court to present evidence or testify against persons accused of criminal activity.
- Conducts investigations in vice activities, narcotics, traffic, burglary or reported incidents as assigned.
- Conducts routine checks of local businesses, residences and government agencies.
- Maintains awareness of and investigates specific areas subject to juvenile delinquency.
- Cooperate with Federal, State and local jurisdictions in the apprehension and detention of wanted persons with other agencies where law enforcement activities are involved
- Maintains positive relations with community members and agencies by educating and informing on crime prevention and related issues.
- Enforcement of all Tribal, State and Federal criminal and traffic laws including all tribal ordinances or applicable game and fish laws and ordinances
- Transports violators to and from court, rehabilitation sites or jail facilities.
- Serves court papers, warrants, or subpoenas as required.
- Maintains appropriate documentation on incidences as required by policies and procedures.
- Generates reports as needed.
- Attends training classes and seminars on police methods, techniques, safety, first aide, marksmanship, and related law enforcement activity.
- Communicates with local, state, regional and outside agencies and assists as needed.
- Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
- Provides information to visitors, the general public and community members on Criminal Law on the Cocopah Indian reservation.

Successfully pass an oral board, background investigation, to include a polygraph, psychological, fingerprint check and medical exams. Must be at least 21 years of age, Must possess a valid State driver's license, internal applicants must not be on probationary status. Must never have been convicted of a felony or have been convicted of a misdemeanor within a period of three (3) years preceding application or never been convicted of an act of domestic violence involving a weapon or serious injury. No DUI’s or major traffic offenses within the past five (5) years and required to pass a physical examination. Must be willing to sign a confidentiality statement upon hire
Candidate must have either an Arizona P.O.S.T. Certification or BIA L.E. Certification
Must meet Bureau of Indian Affairs Law Enforcement Standards and obtain S.L.E.C
Current First Aid and CPR certification may be obtained after hire
Must have basic computer knowledge preferably with Windows and Word Applications
Experience in law enforcement practices or procedures preferred
Education and/or Experience
Associates’ degree in related field, 1 full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement leading to bachelor’s degree
1-year equivalent to at least TS-6, 1-year work specialized work experience or, 3-year work experience in related field or 3-years supervisory work experience
Must meet requirements set forth by the Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Council
Related College or Technical School training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Summary
Compiles technical and general data, reports and maps for use by Tribal Resources Planner in developing land-use and economic development decisions, maintains daily and long-term calendars, schedules appointments and maintains a daily log of activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Catalog and Maintain Departmental map files, updating maps related to road systems, housing infrastructure, land use, and zoning, proposed economic development planning.
- Responds to inquiries from community members and when necessary forwards to appropriate department.
- Maintains Planner's calendar, arranges travel schedules and itinerary, coordinates meetings of the Planner, prepares agenda, arranges for facilities, and maintains minutes of meetings.
- Organizes and maintains departmental files and routes incoming/outgoing mail.
- Prepares departmental correspondence, orders and maintains office supplies arranges for equipment maintenance.
- Assists as a liaison between community groups, government agencies, developers and Tribal Council officials in developing infrastructure plans.
- Assists in resolving citizen and customer issues
- Assist in conducting field evaluations and assessments of Tribal infrastructure
- Collects a variety of statistical data and prepare reports and maps on topics such as census information, land use, tax base data, and occupancy rates.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to create graphic designs, development strategies, and render site plans via sketches and/or computer graphics highly desirable.
- Creative problem-solving skills to gather relevant information to solve practical problems and address Tribal members’ inquiries and concerns
- Ability to facilitate in-person and virtual public participation activities
Qualifications
- Must have a valid Arizona Driver's License and be insurable
- Familiarity with Geographic Information System (GIS) software for capturing, storing, checking, and displaying data related to positions on Earth’s surface streets, buildings, and vegetation is highly desirable
- Familiarity with Google Earth satellite imagery software to render 3D representations on Earth is highly desirable
- Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word is highly desirable
- Must have a valid Arizona Driver's License and be insurable
- Oral communication and interpersonal skills to explain rules and procedures clearly to the public
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to successfully pass DPS/FBI fingerprint background check
Education and/or Experience
- Associates degree in related field is preferred, completion of trade school, professional or technical certification, specialized training
- 1-year equivalent to at least TS-4, 6-months specialized work experience, 3-years work experience in related field or 2-years supervisory work experience

- Assist customers on bowling lanes/party rooms.
- Assist in working parties as assigned by the League and Events Coordinator
- Bus concourse tables as needed.
- Clean bowling shoes/balls during down time.
- Remove debris from floor and carpets.
- Check restrooms for cleanliness, place tissue and soap where needed. Clean restroom as needed.
- Wipe up any and all wet spots/spills in the facility.
- Clean debris from parking lot as needed.
- Retrieve all gutter/foul bowling balls.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of required maintenance procedures preferred.
- Must be able to handle multiple customers at any time.
- Some knowledge of bowling center operations helpful.
