Summary

This position is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all golf course equipment and machinery. The areas of responsibility include small engine repair, electrical, hydraulics, welding and preventative maintenance. Responsible for grinding and back lapping of all reels on mowers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist the Golf Course Superintendent in day-to-day operations of the golf course
• Applying fertilizers and pesticides
• Repair and service small engines
• Operation and maintenance of all mowers and tractors.
• Sets up and modifies new equipment as needed
• Service all resort vehicles.
• Supply list of all supplies, parts, safety equipment etc. for superintendent.
• Keep service records on all equipment and vehicles
• Inventory and maintenance of all tools.
• Grind and maintain all mower reels.
• Inspects equipment on course
• Other duties may be assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of small engine repairs and tune-ups, such as Kohler, 16hp.
• Ability to do welding repairs and fabrication.
• Familiar with the mechanics of hydraulic systems and repair to such systems.
• Knowledge and ability to work with a minimum of supervision.

Qualifications

• Current valid Arizona Driver's License.
• Must be COVID-19 vaccinated or must obtain prior to the completion of the first 120-day training period.

Education and/or Experience

• Associates degree in related field is preferred, completion of trade school, professional or technical certification, specialized training
• 6-months specialized work experience, 3-years work experience in related field or 2-years supervisory work experience
• Welding experience preferred.
• Experience with hydraulics, electric and operation of general mechanic tools and test equipment.

Summary

Line Cook is responsible for performing any combination of duties necessary to facilitate an extremely high quality food service experience. Maintain kitchen area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition. The line fully stocked and cleaned prior to shift end. Other duties may be assigned by Sous chef at times.

• Prepare all hot and cold foods per the standards outlined.
• Cook all food orders with maximum care and skill.

Summary

Supervises and coordinates activities of Cooks and other workers engaged in preparing and cooking foodstuffs by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Observes workers engaged in preparing, portioning, and garnishing foods to ensure that methods of cooking and garnishing and sizes of portions are as prescribed.

Summary

Park Administration is responsible for fiscal and personnel management, clerical support services, staff support to the Parks, Recreation, Community Services, Arts & Culture, grant administration, and applying for grant funding. The Planning & Development of Capital Improvement Program (CIP). Is responsible for the existing facilities, the land for the development of parks and recreation facilities, and the preservation of open space. Responsible for the development of the department’s annual budget and expense management. Developing a Community Engagement program for community outreach to engage the community to participate in the available activities. Manage Facilities - generate and share permits, schedule programs, take in-house and online reservations, and schedule leagues and meetings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• This is a highly responsible professional position that includes administrative and managerial work, planning, organizing, and directing the activities of the Park and Recreation Department. The Director of Parks and Recreation plans, promotes, organizes, and administers public recreation service for the tribal community, under policies established by the Cocopah Indian Tribe.
• Supervises, selects, trains, directs, and evaluates department personnel, and monitors all activities and operations of the department; sets goals and objectives and establishes guidelines for performance;
• Supervises acquisition, planning, design, construction, and maintenance of recreation facilities; coordinates with Public Works Department and the Planning Department on routine maintenance and special repair projects;
• Evaluates effectiveness of recreation areas, facilities, and services;
• Studies local conditions and develops immediate and long-range plans to meet recreational needs of all tribal community age groups;
• Prepares budgets and directs expenditures of department funds and keeping of department records;
• Reports recommendations and direction to Tribal Administration;
• Advises Tribal Administration/Tribal Council on long-term strategic planning for all parks and park programs;
• Oversees marketing of park programs including the Parks & Recreation website, brochures, and social media;
• Develops and manages sponsorship program for department (Ex: Turkey Trot, Social Club and special events, children’s baseball, football or basketball leagues or after school programs including planning snack or meal menus and prepping snacks or meals);
• Complies with all Cocopah Indian Tribe Policies, Protocols, and Procedures;

Summary

This position serves as a working supervisor and under the general direction of the Patrol Lieutenant, provides guidance and leadership to Patrol officers and creates a work environment that encourages ethical conduct, respectful interpersonal relations, open communication, innovative thinking, and creative problem solving with respect and sensitivity to the Cocopah culture. Work is subject to rotating shift assignments, odd hours of work and on-call status. This Sergeant will be responsible for the safety, security and the preservation of life and property by maintaining law and order within the boundaries of the Cocopah Nation Reservation. Assist with maintaining continual law enforcement and prevention services twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervises and coordinates activities of Patrol Officers; ensure compliance with established policies, procedures and work standards.
• Conducts roll call of officers and issues duty assignments.
• Coordinates assignment and training for officers.
• Communicates departmental policies, procedures, regulations, guidelines, goals and objectives.
• Improve staff effectiveness by coaching, counseling, training and recommending disciplinary action for employees; planning, delegating, monitoring, and appraising job tasks and results in a timely manner.

• Must be at least 21 years of age,

• Must never have been convicted of a felony or have been convicted of a misdemeanor within a period of two (3) years preceding application or never been convicted of an act of domestic violence involving a weapon or serious injury.
• No DUI’s or major traffic offenses within the past five (5) years and required to pass a physical examination.

Education and/or Experience

• Associate's degree in criminal justice or related field.

The Prosecutor plays a crucial role in upholding justice and maintaining the legal system within the Cocopah community. This position is responsible for representing the tribal government in criminal and civil cases, ensuring the fair administration of justice, and advocating for the interests of the tribe. The tribal Prosecutor works collaboratively with law enforcement, tribal leaders, and other stakeholders to uphold the rule of law within the Cocopah jurisdiction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prosecute criminal cases on behalf of the tribe, including but not limited to cases involving misdemeanors, felonies, and juvenile offenses.
• Represent the tribe in civil matters, including contract disputes, tribal ordinances violations, and land-related issues.
• Conduct thorough investigations, gather evidence, interview witnesses, and collaborate with law enforcement agencies to build strong cases.
• Review police reports, evidence, and witness statements to determine the strength of cases and legal strategies.
• Appear in tribal court and present cases effectively, including preparing and delivering opening statements, examining witnesses, and making closing arguments.
• Ensure that all legal proceedings adhere to tribal laws, regulations, and procedures.
• Stay informed about relevant tribal laws, federal laws, and legal precedents to effectively represent the tribe's interests.
• Provide legal opinions and advice to tribal leaders and departments as needed.
• Collaborate with law enforcement agencies, tribal social services, and other relevant departments to address community safety and legal issues.
• Communicate regularly with tribal leaders and the general counsel to discuss legal matters and strategies.
• Engage with the tribal community to provide education about tribal laws, rights, and responsibilities.
• Promote conflict resolution and mediation as alternatives to litigation where appropriate.

Summary

Under the direction of the Patrol Sergeant, the Officer will be responsible for the safety, security and the preservation of life and property by maintaining law and order within the boundaries of the Cocopah Nation Reservation. Assist with maintaining continual law enforcement and prevention services twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week. The Officer will have the responsibility of enforcing Federal, State or Tribal laws and ordinances as necessary. Work is subject to rotating shift assignments, odd hours of work and on-call status.

Under the direct supervision of the EPO Director, the Restoration Project Manager will oversee the implementation of two habitat restoration projects on Cocopah tribal lands. Grant funding ends on 12-2027

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure the successful completion of two habitat restoration projects.
• Manage all phases of projects including planning, design, permitting, procurement, construction, adaptive management, and monitoring.
• Develop requests for bids/proposals for all components of project construction work.
• Work with a selection committee to evaluate qualifications and proposals of prospective contractors.
• Coordinate with project partners, consultants, tribal staff, contractors, and stakeholders throughout the project period.
• Oversee, evaluate, and document progress throughout the project period.
• Engage in outreach to share tribal restoration efforts with the tribal and broader community.
• Meet all grant reporting requirements set forth by the funding agencies.
• Assist in developing funding proposals to support continued maintenance of restoration project sites.
• Submit monthly report to EPO Director and regular updates to Tribal Council.
• Attend in-person and virtual trainings for skill development.

Under the direction of the tribal Council, the Chief of Police is responsible for planning, overseeing, and directing the activities, operations, and personnel of the department. The Chief of Police performs a variety of complex, administrative, supervisory and professional tasks in maintaining law and order, protecting life and property, and enforcing laws and ordinances of the Cocopah Indian Tribe. The Chief of Police must have a strong knowledge of law enforcement, public safety, crime prevention, and law enforcement management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Directs, plans, and organizes all activities of the Police Department to prevent crime and enforce laws and regulations.
• Maintains law and order in the community, including prevention, detection, and investigation of crimes.
• Develops and implements policies and procedures for the Police Department.
• Addresses the public, council, local leaders, and other law enforcement agencies regarding law enforcement issues.
• Responds to emergencies, major crimes, and critical incidents in the community.
• Promulgates rules and regulations for the department.

Summary

Compiles technical and general data, reports and maps for use by Tribal Resources Planner in developing land-use and economic development decisions, maintains daily and long-term calendars, schedules appointments and maintains a daily log of activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Catalog and Maintain Departmental map files, updating maps related to road systems, housing infrastructure, land use, and zoning, proposed economic development planning.
• Responds to inquiries from community members and when necessary forwards to appropriate department.
• Maintains Planner's calendar, arranges travel schedules and itinerary, coordinates meetings of the Planner, prepares agenda, arranges for facilities, and maintains minutes of meetings.
• Organizes and maintains departmental files and routes incoming/outgoing mail.
• Prepares departmental correspondence, orders and maintains office supplies arranges for equipment maintenance.
• Assists as a liaison between community groups, government agencies, developers and Tribal Council officials in developing infrastructure plans.
• Assists in resolving citizen and customer issues
• Assist in conducting field evaluations and assessments of Tribal infrastructure
• Collects a variety of statistical data and prepare reports and maps on topics such as census information, land use, tax base data, and occupancy rates.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

 

• Ability to create graphic designs, development strategies, and render site plans via sketches and/or computer graphics highly desirable.
• Creative problem-solving skills to gather relevant information to solve practical problems and address Tribal members’ inquiries and concerns
• Ability to facilitate in-person and virtual public participation activities

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Arizona Driver's License and be insurable
• Familiarity with Geographic Information System (GIS) software for capturing, storing, checking, and displaying data related to positions on Earth’s surface streets, buildings, and vegetation is highly desirable
• Familiarity with Google Earth satellite imagery software to render 3D representations on Earth is highly desirable
• Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word is highly desirable
• Must have a valid Arizona Driver's License and be insurable
• Oral communication and interpersonal skills to explain rules and procedures clearly to the public
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to successfully pass DPS/FBI fingerprint background check
• Must be COVID-19 vaccinated, or must obtain by the completion of the 120 day training period.

Education and/or Experience

• Associates degree in related field is preferred, completion of trade school, professional or technical certification, specialized training
• 1-year equivalent to at least TS-4, 6-months specialized work experience, 3-years work experience in related field or 2-years supervisory work experience

Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Education Coordinator.  Responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing a Summer Education Program

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop a curriculum for two summer sessions, one for elementary age students and the second for high school age students.
• Develop and implement a curriculum to develop academic skills for both the elementary and high school students.
• Develop and implement a program with local speakers (Tribal Members) to expand student awareness of their native culture with the assistance of the Cocopah Museum and Cultural Resources department.
• Must be available to attend education committee meetings.
• Develop and implement an arts and crafts program and to introduce traditional cultural awareness and appreciation.
• Plan and coordinate special activities and field trips related to the summer curriculum.
• Supervise, monitor, and teach students in academic development skills, cultural awareness.
• Implement environmental program focusing on awareness of native culture.

Supervise the Teacher Assistant.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Qualifications

• Must have strong organizational skills, i.e. planning, coordinating, and working with students and professional staff.
• Must be aware and sensitive to community education needs.
• Level I Fingerprint Clearance card required.

Mixes and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to patrons of the bar by performing the following duties.

• Take food & drinks orders from customers.
• Mixes ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, sugar and bitters to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
